Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own website to sell on SportsLizard?
Yes - you either need to have your own website or sell on another site like eBay or NAXCOM. SportsLizard's marketplace can be used to help promote your items that you're selling somewhere else, not as a replacement. When someone buys an item, they're directed to your site to complete the transaction.
What information do you need for each collectible and how should I format it?
We require a title (the title of the item), description (a detailed description of the item), image_link (a link to a photo of the item), link (a link to the page where someone can go to buy the item), and price. These five fields should be the only fields in your feed, and they should be in that order to ensure that they are listed properly.
Make sure that your title and description are as descriptive as possible - the more key words you use the greater chance the item has coming up in our search results. You should also make sure not to format your prices with a comma or dollar sign (for example, $1,329.54 should be 1329.54).
Here's an example of a tab delimited text file, and an Excel spreadsheet to get you started inputting your items. To save the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet as a tab delimited file, go to File » Save As » Text (Tab delimited).
Can I use my Froogle/Google Base/Google Product Search feed?
Yes. Just make sure that it is saved as a tab delimited .txt file and that it includes only the five required fields (title, description, image_link, link, price) in that order.
How long do my listings last?
There is no specified time table on how long your listings last. As long as the items are actively for sale on your site, you can keep them listed on SportsLizard. However, you can update your listings as frequently as you want, replacing your current listings with updated new ones. We reserver the right to remove any items that are not sports collectibles related or are no longer for sale on your site.
How do I get an image_link for an eBay item?
In Internet Explorer: right-click on the image and select Properties. The image_link is is the Address (URL).
In Firefox: right-click on the image and select View Image. The image_link is is the web address. It appears as if eBay has disabled this. You likely need to use an image hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket to host your product images.
